New Bookshelf Buys

Sunday, 2 April 2017

So a few days ago I was browsing on Amazon and stumbled across the 3 for £10 promotion going on and I just so happened to have a £20 gift voucher that I had for my Birthday. It was like fate so I had no choice but to buy 6 books. That's what I'm telling myself anyway. Oops. You might have guessed by now that I'm a complete bookworm. I definitely don't need more books and still have a queue of books waiting to be read on my shelf but buying brand new books brings me so much joy. Yes I know it's all very sad but there are much worse things I could be spending money on.

There's an ongoing joke in my family that my bedroom is more like a library and they're not wrong. It's overflowing with masses and masses of literary gold and I honestly don't know how the floorboards haven't caved in yet. Sorry, I'm rambling. Basically here are some books I bought and wanted to share:

1) A Monster Calls by Patrick Ness

2) Fangirl by Rainbow Rowell

3) Reasons To Stay Alive by Matt Haig

4) The One Memory Of Flora Banks by Emily Bark

5) A Mindfulness Guide For The Frazzled by Ruby Wax

6) The Girl On The Train by Paula Hawkins

Have you read any of these yet? Are they any good?

Liv x

    1. Gone Girl is amazing if you like psychological thrillers, the plot is crazy but so good!

  2. My 2017 resolution was to start reading again but it's so difficult to find time to do it. I want to re-read all the Harry Potter books too, hopefully on my summer holidays! xx

    1. If you're struggling to find time, reading before bed is always good and it helps me get to sleep. I'm currently reading chamber of secrets, they're amazing books!!

    1. Oh good I'm glad, I've heard great things about it! I've only looked at the first few pages and found the way it's written so encouraging, I can't wait to read it properly.

  4. I'm really trying to make more time for reading! I've recently bought Sophie Kinsella's My Not So Perfect Life and Sarah Morgan's New York Actually.
I've watched the Girl On The Train and it was great, so I'm sure the book will be amazing!

    1. It's such a good way to escape and relax. I love Sohpie Kinsella, her book Finding Audrey is one of my favourite books. I'm holding off from watching the film until I read the book but it looks insane!

  5. I read A Monster Calls this past January. It made me cry so hard at the end. It's brilliant. But definitely don't read the last 20 pages in public. ;)
