Snippets Of My Month: July 2017

Tuesday, 1 August 2017

I say it every time but I can't quite believe that another month has passed me by. I think that doing these monthly reflective posts is making me notice how quickly the months are whizzing by. It's scary that we're already more than half way through 2017. It feels like it's only just begun. It's august now though, which means one thing. IT'S NEARLY AUTUMN. I don't care much for summer and usually start picturing autumn and winter right about now, as bizarre as that sounds.

At the end of the month Lola tuned 1!! I can't believe we've almost had her for a whole year. Time flies. As you can see in the above picture, she loves cuddling me. NOT. Her face looks in complete distress. She's so moody.

As always, my camera roll was full to the brim of photos of Lola. She was poorly last month after getting into quite the scrap with a couple of foxes. She came out spooked with a bit of a limp so we took her to the vets just to be safe. Thankfully nothing was broken and she's now completely fine and back to her mischievous self.

The weather was as strange as ever. Yes, I'm talking embracing my inner 70 year old in a hairdressers smalltalking by mentioning the weather on my blog. Can you tell that July was pretty uneventful and I'm just trying to fill up space? Seriously though I was sunbathing (or should I say sunburning) and in the pool one day then watching the rain from my window the next. Make your mind up.

I swear all of the best films ever came out last month too. Spiderman homecoming was just the most amazing film ever and was everything I expected it to be and more. Just when I thought I couldn't love Tom Holland any more. And can we talk about wonder woman?!! Unreal. No words.

I bought some cacti and succulents at long last. I've been so eager to buy some for months but never really knew where to go. Colin the cactus is from New Look and Sebastian the succulent is from Wilkos. The cactus isn't real because no doubt my cat Lola would think it's a toy and really hurt herself with a real one but the other is real and is a small aloe vera succulent.

My brother turned 13 on the 13th. It's so weird saying that because I always see him as the little 4 year old that I was forced to play Thomas The Tank trains with. I can't quite believe he's a teenager already. I've always loved birthday's. Give me balloons and cake any day and I'll be happy. He was the most difficult person to buy for but I got there in the end. Thankfully he's a huge fan of Arsenal so anything with that theme went down a treat. We had a pretty chilled day and we went out for food at a restaurant close by (I actually managed it, take that anxiety) then visited family for cake in the evening.

Last month I bought myself a canon camera so all I've been doing is taking photos of the most random things just because I'm so excited about it. The zoom is insane so I keep zooming into the pier from my window. We're so lucky with the view. I had the flu for a week and ended up in bed for days but I still managed to sit and take photos of my room just to get used to all the different modes. God the flu is awful. I've had it once before (over christmas of all the times) and the non-stop sneezing, runny nose, coughing and headaches is just the worst. I lose my sense of smell and taste too so eating food is honestly like chewing on a flannel. So gross. For most of the week I was in bed surrounded by tissues and olbus oil but it was a nice excuse to binge watch Game Of Thrones. Season 3 has broken my heart. I can't believe they killed off Robb Stark.

Last month consisted of quite a few pub lunches in the sunshine (so British to flock down to the pub when the sun makes an appearance). And of course, eating out means bathroom selfies. Isn't that toilet pretty? I also went to a lil garden centre which I've got to say, is so fun. I don't know why but they're the best places to go to.

This one's a little random but I thought it was quite a cool photo. Our pool turned green after we abandoned it for a few weeks and although it was super gross (won't lie, it looked like a giant bowl of piss) it looked really cool when it rained. Like a weird potion or something. Idk.

What did you get up to last month?
