Zoeva Cocoa Blend Palette

Tuesday, 19 September 2017

After months of trying to stop myself from making this purchase, I gave in. I have no will power. It was only £18 though which I think is a right bargain but I didn't really need it. I've used to be someone who didn't buy unnecesarily (cuz I'm mega tight with money) and I would only buy a new palette/makeup item until I'd used up the previous one. Like for example, I won't try a new foundation until I've run out of my current one. I've accumulated quite a few eyeshadow palettes and I hate the thought of having a load that are just sat in my draw collecting dust because I've bought a newer one. I'm telling myself it's good to have options though so I don't have buyers remorse. I mean, can a person have too many eyeshadow palettes?

Zoeva makeup brushes have always been on my makeup wishlist but I just can't bring myself to spend over £100 on a set of brushes. This palette is the first thing I've bought from them and I'm so impressed. For £18, you get a really high quality palette. Every shade, even the lightest neutral shades are extremely pigmented. Sometimes with eyeshadow palettes the lightest base colours don't show up very well but these don't have that problem and give a pigmented base for the other colours.

There's such a nice range of shades but I have to say the shimmery ones are my faves. Warm Notes (the deep pink/red shimmer) is so pretty and blends out really nicely so could be worn as a day look without looking too intense. I use Substitute For Love and Freshly Toasted the most often and think they'll be my most worn for autumn too. I love amber and warm orange eyeshadows at the moment, they really suit brown eyes.

What I Love:
  • High Pigmentation: every single eyeshadow shade is pigmented which I find rare in palettes. Usually there's at least one that doesn't show up as much as the others.
  • Cute packaging: this is of course expected with Zoeva palettes. They all seem to be gorgeous. I love the nude and gold foil on this one and always catches my eye first when I'm deciding which eyeshadow palette to use.
  • Easy to blend out: I really hate eyeshadows that just stay put once you apply them to your eyes. These are really good for blending out and softening colours though and are so easy to build colours on.
  • Amazing Quality For Money: I'm still amazed that these palettes are only £18. Some might say that's pricey but for what you get, it's amazing. They look really high end and expensive but are actually really affordable.
