Autumn Makeup Bag

IT'S FINALLY OCTOBER!!!!!
This is without a doubt my favourite time of year. I'm that friend who talks about October, November and December throughout the summer. Cosy jumpers, hot chocolates, bonfires and HALLOWEEN. Just the best time of year.
I always look forward to autumnal makeup too. Copper eyeshadows and dark lipsticks make my heart happy. My skin pays the price though and is usually bone dry and pale so I have to alter what I use to change that.

Nivea Soft Moisturiser
I've been using this for so long and always change to using this as a base over my simple moisturiser when the weather starts to change. It's so hydrating and sinks into my skin well without a greasy feel. I feel confident that my foundation won't exaggerate my dry patches once I've used this as a primer.

Maybelline Dream Satin Liquid
I've been using this foundation more this month and I've been loving it. It's less matte than the foundations I usually go for which is why I think I've been reaching for it more. It just helps with hydrating my skin without making it look oily. Another thing I love is that I don't even have to use powder when I use this foundation because it has the right amount of coverage and stays put without any extra products.

Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer
Of course, no surprises. It's a go-to all year round but I love using the shade "Fair" for brightening my dull dark circles so I look healthier and more awake. The "Cool Medium" shade is too dark for my blemishes at the moment so I've been using the Maybelline Anti-Age concealer in the colour "Light" for any redness or breakouts and it matches the concealer perfectly.

MAC Lipstick in "Whirl"
I bought this lippy a few months back and haven't been able to use it yet because it just didn't suit me during the summer months. Now it's autumn and I've dyed my hair darker it looks much better. I didn't expect "Whirl" to be a dark colour but it's quite a dark mauve on my skin tone. It's the first MAC lipstick I've owned and I definitely understand the hype now. They're really comfortable to wear, super pigmented and long lasting.

Anastasia Beverly Hills Dip Brow Pomade
This is another recent purchase but I've completely fallen in love with it. Like the MAC lipstick, I'd heard a lot of hype about this but questioned whether it was really worth it. It's quite pricey in comparison to other brow products I've used but for £15 I'm actually impressed with the quality. You literally need the smallest amount at a time but a little goes a long way. It sculpts my brows so easily but makes a huge difference with how full and shaped they look.

L'Oreal Paradise Mascara
After first using this last month I've been non-stop wearing it. It's certainly on a par with my most loved Maybelline Lash Sensational and together they make a massive difference to my eyelashes. They're looking much longer and fuller than usual and just generally makes my eyes really defined. I reviewed it fully here.

Morphe 25B Eyeshadow Palette
I knew for a fact when I bought this it would be the only thing I used during October. They're my typical autumnal shades with a range of orange, berry, and mocha shades. It's got every autumnal shade you'd possibly need in one palette. I can't rave about it enough.

Vaseline
Before using any lip products, vaseline is an essential part of my makeup bag during the autumn and winter months. My lips become extremely dry and chapped and it's so painful and uncomfortable, making it impossible for me to wear any lipsticks. I have a few different vaselines (I always lose them and buy more, I've never actually fully used one up) but I love the pink one. It adds a little bit of colour so I sometimes wear this on it's own as well.

Bourjois Delice De Poudre Highlighter
I don't tend to go too overboard with the bronzer and highlighter at the moment but this duo is just the right amount. It's a really soft bronzer and highlight which just makes my complexion look healthy but natural. They're not the most pigmented powders and you have to use quite a lot for good colour pay off but overall it's a nice little duo. It smells incredible too.

Which makeup products are you loving for autumm? I'd love some new suggestions.

  1. Like you, I have been using the same Nivea moisturiser for as long as I can remember.. After using tub after tub, I could never be without it! It's the same with Vaseline too :-)
