Autumn Lipstick Picks

Saturday, 4 November 2017

I must say, I'm loving blogging right now. Like, I love it anyway but October has just been even more fun. I've loved both writing my blogposts and reading other people's autumn inspired rambles. It makes me so excited for christmas (may or may not have already written 4 posts because I'm desperately wanting it to hurry up). I've loved autumn makeup this year and more specifically using slightly bolder lipsticks than I'm used to. After all, if you can't wear a vampy purple lipstick during october, when can you? I've put together a list of the ones I've been using repeatedly recently which are really good value for money.

Nip+Fab Liquid Lipstick
in "Cinnamon"
I wear this liquid lipstick so much I can't believe it's still going to be honest. The colour is such a pretty deep nude colour that works so well for autumn. It's like a burnt orange that I think is perfect for this time of year and matches with my favourite orange eyeshadows. It's so creamy and doesn't dry or flake off towards the end of the day. Considering my lips are so chapped during this cold weather, dry lipsticks are a no go.

MAC Matte Lipstick
in "Whirl"
I've actually had this for a while but never used it until now because it's not really a summer shade. I knew when I bought it that it would be absolutely perfect for autumn/winter because it's so similar to the colours I usually wear. Now autumn is in full swing, it's all I've been wearing when I do a full face of makeup. It's a dark mauve colour but it's actually really wearable and doesn't stand out too much which I like when it comes to lipsticks. It dries matte without being uncomfortable and is really long lasting too.

Essence Matt Matt Matt
in "07 Purple Power"
This lipstick is a little out of my comfort zone in all honesty but it's such a cool one, I had to mention it. If you're used to wearing bold lipsticks (without getting it absolutely everywhere) then this dark plum colour is perfect. Alternatively, you could always wear it for halloween. I'm not used to wearing darker lipsticks so I have to use a lip liner because it can get quite messy. It does transfer easily though and isn't that long lasting which is really annoying.

NYX Lip Lingerie
in "Embellishment"
This is a much more subtle purple, more of a lilac actually, which I slightly prefer to the darker essence lippy. It has a matte finish once dried which is what I love, but it's not too drying/flaky. It's extremely long lasting too, all of the nyx lip lingerie range is (so much so it was impossible to get the swatch off of my arm). You can't go wrong with a NYX liquid lipstick, they're such good value for money.

Sleek Matte Me
in "Birthday Suit"
This was the first liquid lipstick I ever tried funnily enough and it's what made me absolutely adore them. It's such a soft pinky/nude colour which I find is really good for natural makeup days when I'm not feeling a bold lip. One thing I really like (which is quite random) is the wand just because it makes applying it so easy. Just one sweep fills the shape of my lips effortlessly. Overall, a really nice lip product that's really affordable too.

Which lip products have you been loving throughout autumn? I'm on the lookout for xmas reds at the moment too.
