12 Days Of Slackmas | Winter Reading List

Thursday, 7 December 2017

When I imagine cosy winter evenings I think of lit candles, being buried in blankets and stuck in a good book. Usually a book set at Christmas. They're the best books to read. There aren't many out there though, it's quite hard to find christmas themed reading books so I end up reading the same ones each year. Either way, books are the ultimate cosy night in essentials, so here are a few books on my winter reading list:

1) Harry Potter and The Philosopher's Stone
Yes, I've read this book a few times now but it is such a cosy book to read. It's set at christmas and features magical wizards and witches. What else could you need? Any excuse to indulge in the Potter World to be honest. But if you haven't read it before (or the rest of the HP books actually) you 100% need to. Especially this one, it's one of the best.

2) Tanya's Christmas

I love Tanya's vlogmas every year so when I heard she was writing a book all about Christmas I was so excited. After buying her baking book last year I had high hopes and she definitely didn't disappoint. It has so many different ideas in there for baking, outfits, makeup, DIY gift wrapping and presents, and party themes. I'm slowly working my way through it and have already used it as inspiration for a few Christmas bakes.

3) A Yorkshire Christmas
I'm so excited to get round to reading this one. I was browsing on Amazon when the cover caught my eye. It's so pretty. I've always wanted to visit Yorkshire too (the accent is just amazing) so I was intruged by the title. The blurb sold it for me though because it reminded me so much of one of my fave christmas films; the holiday. It's about a girl in New York who decides to leave her disasterous love life and hide away in the dales. So similar to the holiday, I couldn't not buy it.

4) Christmas At Little Beach Street Bakery
I've been meaning to read one of Jenny Colgan's books from the Little Beach Street Bakery series for ages. Her books have been on my book wishlist in my notes for over a year. The series sounds like something I'd love, comforting and feel-good novels. The blurb made it sound SO christmassy too, all about christmas baking and events going on in a cute village (goals). I hope it's as good as I'm expecting it to be.

5) A Christmas Carol
Considering how many times I've watched numerous film adaptations and even plays surrounding this story, I can't believe I haven't read it yet. It's such a christmas classic so I think reading it will make the story even more magical for me. It's one of those stories that have stayed with me throughout my childhood so I imagine there will be a sense of nostalgia when I get round to reading it.

Do you have any books on your reading list at the moment?
