Girly Afternoon Tea Date

Thursday, 4 January 2018

Hello lovelies and welcome to 2018!! I hope you all had a fab New Years and have had a positive start to this year. Mine has consisted of bed rest and binge watching old eps of only fools and horses because tonsillitis has hit me hard. But that won't stop my enthusiasm about the new year. I'm so excited for what this year has in store. 8 has always been my lucky number so my superstitious self feels like it's going to be a good one. I'm turning 18 (eeeek adulthood) too and have some pretty exciting trips lined up which I'm SO SO excited about. I have every intention of having as much fun this year as I possibly can and seize every single opportunity.

For my first 2018 post I'm sharing a few snaps of an afternoon tea me, my mum, sister, cousin and auntie had yesterday. My gorgeous mama had her birthday on new years day and as you can imagine, it's a pretty crap day to have a birthday as there aren't many places open for us to celebrate. Me and the sis planned a little afternoon tea at the Front Room in Mumbles as part of her present and it was the most photogenic occasion. Vintage China, sandwiches, and loads of cake. LAV IT. Not to mention some of the best scones I've ever tried. The had their Christmas tree still up too so the place smelt incredible and made me feel so cosy. We never do stuff like it usually so it was such a nice way for us to get together for her birthday. A little girly outing. I felt oh so posh and civilised with the teeny teacups of tea (pinky extended of course). My cups of tea at home are more like buckets but I loved it. If you're ever in Swansea, or more particularly Mumbles, The front room is definitely a good shout. We shall be returning for the yummy breakfast we saw another table having.

How have you kicked off the new year? Anything exciting happened?

  2. Happy new year :) I love afternoon tea, it's always so relaxed and you can get a good gab in. I am loving the tea cups and wee plates, they look stunning. A big happy birthday to your mum, what a lovely treat. It must have been nice still seeing the Christmas tree up.
