Makeup That Never Fails Me

Monday, 4 June 2018

We've all got them. Those ride or die products you just can't stop reaching for and you've re-purchased more times than you can remember. I've put together a little collection of my most loved makeup products that I couldn't live without and I'd love to know yours too.

Maybelline Lash Sensation
Hands down THE BEST mascara I've tried, and one I just can't stop re-buying. It lengthens and thickens your lashes at the same time and overall just makes your eyes pop and stand out more. It's £8.99 which I think is quite good for a mascara especially as it lasts quite a long time. The curved wand really curls your lashes and pushes them up so your eyes look big and bold.

Seventeen Brows That Kit

I'm really sad that the seventeen makeup brand has been discontinued but this is still one of my favourite brow kits ever. I really need to find a dupe because once I run out of my current one it's bye bye fave brow kit. It only used to be £5.99 so it was a win win. I never use the wax just because I hate the feeling of too much stuff in my eyebrows but the powder is perfect for me. The perfect colour match and formula. The highlight is pretty good for the brow bone and inner corner too although I'm going to miss the brow powder the most.

Mac Mineralize Skin Finish
This is one of those "bloggers made me buy" products. After ages of seeing people rave about it I got it for xmas and I was absolutely over the moon with it. It's easily one of my favourite ever highlighters and it's quickly become on of my most reached for. I have the shade "soft and gentle" which is a really pretty golden shimmer. It's going to look so good in the summer months when the sun is out.

Maybelline Superstay Foundation
As someone who has scars from acne, I'm constantly on the look out for full coverage foundations. I saw SophDoesNails rave about this in a video and thought I'd try it. I've bought a few bottles now and I use it pretty much every day. The coverage is actually insane. I rarely even need concealer on top because it just makes my skin look completely flawless and acne mark free. The only thing that bugs me is the colours. I have to mix "Ivory" and "Light Beige" because ivory is too dark (even though ivory is meant to be really light) and light beige is too light. Other than that, I love love loveeeeee.

Soap and Glory Supercat Eyeliner
When I'm feeling brave enough to attempt a winged liner, this is my ultimate go to. It's got the perfect felt tip and creates a wing effortlessly. I'm not the best at eyeliner so it's definitely down to this eyeliner. I've had it for absolutely ages now and it works just as well as when I first bought it. Can't believe it hasn't dried out yet, it's amazing.

ABH Dipbrow Pomade
I was a bit skeptical when I bought this just because I thought £19 for a small pot of brow product was a bit cray. However, I'm certain that this pomade is going to last for so long so I think it's worth it. It did take me a while to get used to the texture and pigment (ended up with slug brows a few times) but now I'm kind of used to it, it looks quite good. Just got to remember small brush strokes.

Makeup Revolution Modern Renaissance Lipstick
If ever I'm feeling like an everyday lippy, this is it. The most trustworthy of lipsticks. For only £4 you seriously can't go wrong. It's the nicest matte finish and the high pigment lasts all day. I use "Vow" mostly because it's the perfect nude shade that goes with every makeup look. Also love the packaging, who doesn't love a bit of gold?

Bourjois Maxi Delight Bronzer
This is another one of those products that I can always rely on to go right. Bronzer can be a bit risky for me and I've had some bad wotsit experiences so finding one like this makes life so much easier. In the summer it literally makes you look like you've been on holiday because it bronzes you but also adds a healthy shimmery glow which just looks stunning. I like that it's not a muddy bronzer shade because some of them just don't look right but this blends into your base makeup really nicely.

Maybelline Age Rewind Concealer
This is a go-to concealer of mine just because the coverage is amazing. If I'm in a rush or just can't be bothered I'll use this as a foundation because it's that good at concealing and making your skin look healthy. Only problem for me is that there isn't a lot of product in the tube so it runs out really quickly. I also worry about how hygienic it is just because it's a rollerball applicator and you end up re-applying any bacteria. Might be better if I applied it to the back of my hand but I never remember to.

Rimmel Wake Me Up Concealer

This is more of an under the eye cover up for me just because it's such a good brightening concealer. The coverage is fab but I find it works really well under my eyes. Vanish bags vanish. It also doesn't crease as badly as others I've used and blends out so easily. An all round good concealer which is so affordable too.

Seventeen Define and Conquer Contour Kit
Another one of my beloved seventeen products that I can't buy anymore. I actually don't know what I'll do when this runs out because it's the only contour kit I've ever liked. Please leave some suggestions/dupes if you know any!! It's the perfect contour shade that blends out perfectly and adds such a nice depth to your face. No orange or muddy tones either which makes your contour look so natural. I'm gonna miss it when it runs out.

What are your ride or die makeup products?
